Week Commencing : Monday 5th June 2017

Welcome to the new School Site

Our enrichment programme which runs through Years 7 to 11 is something we are very proud of and we believe that our 6th form enrichment programme will continue the tradition.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Duke of Edinburgh's Award is offered to students at STFS and entrants to the 6th form can continue from previous award levels or register from scratch at STFS.  Click here to be re-directed to our DofE page.

Combined Cadet Force (RAF)*1

*1 Cadets will normally already be serving cadets in the ACF/ATC. As our CCF takes place largely in school time, it is perfectly acceptable to be members of a local ACF/ATC as well as our CCF (as some of our existing students are).

Sir Thomas Fremantle Sixth Form opens in September 2017. It will provide a superb environment in which to learn and grow. Students will be encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and development, and in turn can expect to work with dedicated staff who will provide tailored support throughout their time at the school. Sir Thomas Fremantle Sixth Form is proud to be at the heart of our local community, one which we both benefit from, and are privileged to serve.

The Sixth Form team have created a programme of study that not only helps students to achieve outstanding results, but also to develop crucial skills which will help students to prepare for the next step after Sixth Form. We will help students to prepare for work, university or further study through a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular initiatives, by engaging with local and national institutions, and be creating opportunities to build and develop confidence and character.

We intend that members of our Sixth Form will be active members of our local and school community.  We want to create an environment where Sixth Form students grow into school leaders, and we will give many different and varied opportunities for student leadership.

Sir Thomas Fremantle Sixth Form will also provide excellent quality pastoral care, and each student will be assigned a mentor who will provide 1:1 support and challenge across the year. This will ensure that there is a key contact for students to both monitor and encourage academic progress but also to provide pastoral care and to coordinate any help or guidance required if there are difficulties to overcome.

Sir Thomas Fremantle Sixth Form will allow all students to achieve their potential in an environment that nourishes, encourages and challenges them in preparation for their futures.
