KnowledgeColour and Tone: Students will explore colour theory and tone. Students will refine their fine motor skills- students discover the effects of using a tonal range and colour blendingLine and collage: Students will explore line drawing and collage. Students will refine their fine motor skills- students discover the effects of mark making, shape and directional linePortraiture: Students are introduced to portraiture and the proportions of the human face. Students work towards understanding how to draw facial features and details.Craig Redman: Students look into the work of Craig Redman and his use of pattern when depicting the human face. Students create a self-portrait that reflects the work of Redman and develops a knowledge of pattern.Gargoyles: Students explore the historical context of gargoyles. Using their new found knowledge students design and create their own Gargoyles using clay.Cubism: students explore the artist movement Cubism, and research the work of Leger and Lichtenstien. Students develop their drawing skills and investigate working with a limited colour palette.
