KnowledgeThe Boyle Family: Students explore the work of artists The Boyle Family. Students learn to document people's journeys by drawing and photographing the floor. Students experiment with 2D releief, emulating found textures using string, card and foil. Students learn to cast textures using clay and plaster of paris. Objects:
Students explore the work of artist Michael Craig Martin and Tony Cragg. Students learn how artist play with negative space and proportions, students make their piece in response to his technique and subject matter
Structure: Students explore the idea of 3D structures, using artist research and an abstract, geometric style to design, plan and build a cardboard sculpture.Warhol printing: Students look into the work of iconic pop artist Andy Warhol. Students research the artist’s inspiration behind his famous prints. Students focus on food packaging, producing their own two layer repeat printAlbum cover: Students look at how the artwork that accompanies music albums. Students are introduced to working from a brief, and design an album cover for a musican/band of their choosing. Students use their use of colour theory and shape to inform their designs. Carosuel: Students use their autonomy to select their favourite artistic processes over the course of KS3. Students complete fortnightly tasks, revisiting techniques and ideas,
