BACK TO SCHOOL - MONDAY 3RD JUNE 〰️

Sensory Garden Fundraising

In order to increase our funds the SEND Department will be selling ice-lollies this week in school therefore please may we ask that you send your child/children into school with some change.

Thanks to your contributions, we have raised £205 so far. We are thrilled with the progress and are optimistic about reaching our goal with your help.

If you haven’t had the chance to contribute yet, there are several ways you can still support the fundraiser:

  1. Donations: Any amount is greatly appreciated and brings us one step closer to our goal. Donations can be made online via https://gofund.me/bb3fff42 or in person at the school office.

  2. Tools/equipment/plants: if you have any of the following that you would be willing to donate: plant pots, sensory plants (lavender, herbs, bamboo, etc.), wooden garden seating, water features, wood (4x2, and 3x3 lengths).

We are incredibly grateful for the support and enthusiasm from our community. The sensory garden will be a wonderful addition to our school, providing a rich, multi-sensory environment that enhances learning and wellbeing for students.

Help Your Child Cope With Stress & Anxiety

There's still time to book on to the Helping Your Child Cope With Stress & Anxiety workshop with Bucknghamshire Adult Learning for Monday 3rd June.

Aimed at Y10 & Y11 parents, this FREE workshop is being delivered by the Family Learning team. It will give you practical ideas to improve your child’s wellbeing and learn about where you can find support. You will look at what stress and anxiety are and explore strategies to help your child deal with these. You will look at ways to help children deal with setbacks and build their resilience, both at school and home.

Pop-Up Wildlife Club

Did you know that every June the Wildlife Trust has a campaign called #30dayswild - encouraging people to get outside in nature every day in June?

To celebrate at STFS we are running pop-up wildlife clubs every Tuesday and Thursday during June. Students can sign up at reception for a free session!

Y7 Science Project

Miss Joseph’s Y7s have been completing a group project making models of the solar system, culminating in them presenting them in a Science Fair style lesson to the rest of the class and to other members of staff who weren't teaching. The commitment, enthusiasm, focus and maturity towards this project exceeded my expectations and I couldn't have been prouder to be their teacher.

Paint Donations

The students in Art Club have been working really hard on designing a mural for our library, and we are nearly ready to start painting!! We are asking for your help and request if you have any spare/left over emulsion paint that they can be donated to the school so we can use them to paint our mural design (this could be paint left at the bottom of larger pots or testers).

Any donations can be dropped off to the school reception (8:30-16:30). Art club would like to start painting as soon as possible, so please drop any paint in by Friday 7th June. Your help as always is greatly appreciated.

Chromebook Ordering Scheme

The ordering portal for the Freedom Tech Chromebook scheme is now open - please check your inbox for an email with details.

To take advantage of the scheme, all orders must be placed before 10th July, for delivery at the beginning of September.

House Arts Competition

This term the arts teams are delighted to be holding our House Arts Competition. Students are invited to audition and take part representing their house in a range of categories from art, drama and music.

There will be a sequence of auditions resulting in the final performance evening on Wednesday 26th June which will be judged by a panel and external guest to determine the best house.

New System Update

Over the Easter holiday we changed our main database system. We have spent a long time evaluating various systems and are excited to have found one with so many benefits for both us, and our families.

We have chosen a system called Arbor which will enable us to consolidate the current three systems into just one.

Click here to find out more about Arbor.

The current systems will be gradually replaced by Arbor in this order:

  1. My Child At School

  2. ClassCharts

  3. ParentPay

To enable a smooth transition, the migration project and will be split into phases. Here is a timeline of the initial changes that will impact families over the next few weeks.

27th March 2024 - Attendance and timetable information will stop updating on My Child At School.
Please use ClassCharts to view the most up-to-date attendance and timetable information. Continue to use MCAS for Parents Evenings, After-School Clubs and Progress Reports until we contact you with your Arbor account details.

Mid-May 2024 - We will contact you with details for your new Arbor account.
Please use the Arbor app instead of MCAS as soon as you have activated your account.

31st May 2024 - My Child At School will be deactivated.
Please uninstall the app.

We will continue to use ClassCharts until the end of the Summer Term and will provide more information later in the year.

Continue to use ParentPay as usual.

We are confident our families will appreciate the benefits of this change and will do all we can to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Uniform Donations

Our new online school shop has been so successful, our stocks are already running low!

If you have any uniform items that no longer fit your child, please consider donating them and drop them off to the school office.

100% of the proceeds from the sale of uniform is given to the students to spend on something they choose.
